Abuse
The abuse that goes on in homes, across the nation, and across the continent and indeed, around the world, has to stop. We have to learn to be positive with our children. Abuse is so many things. It is physical, mental, sexual and it is mind-boggling that we can do such things to our children, to our spouses and to our parents. Many times it is done to strangers too. It is cruel, and demeaning. Most of all it is demeaning to the abuser. They know they are doing it, and cannot seem to stop. If that is the case, go for professional help, before one of your family, or a friend or a stranger is put into a grave. It could even be the abuser going into that grave, and in effect someone will be punished for something the abuser caused to happen.
The better ways to reprimand, are positive..either positive words, or positive actions. In some cases, absolutely no action is required. Those are the times, that the punished one did not do anything but be there, when the abuser was in the mood to abuse. Those are the times when the abuser is the worst. An adult is better prepared to defend themselves, but children cannot, they only learn at the hands of the abuser, how to become an abuser themselves.
Please, please, if you are an abuser, or in a household with an abuser, go for help. Tell someone who can help! Call the authorities, tell a friend, or a teacher. Just somehow get the help that is needed, before it is too late. We do not need more disfunctional people or families. We need more people in recovery, learning to get along with each other and with themselves. We do not need more injuries and deaths! We need more people looking back, and saying to themselves........I made it and I am a better person!
When you are older and looking back, how do you want to remember your family......like the little girl in the first picture below....crying and upset.......or like the second child......happy and glad to be alive.
Think about it! The choices are clear!
